There is a 3rd Grade Spring Concert Reminder Letter as well as a letter that went home to students regarding the 4th Grade Recorder Unit that we just started. The 3rd graders are currently preparing for their concert which is on Thursday, March 10th, 2022 at 7pm in the middle school PAC. The theme of their concert is "Music In Our Schools Month." For more than 30 years in the United States, the month of March has been officially designated by the National Association for Music Education for the observance of "Music in Our Schools Month." Its purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children, and to remind us that school is where every child should have access to learning music as a curricular subject. It is an opportunity to display the benefits that music brings to students of all ages.
The 4th graders just received their recorders last week and are working on "Recorder Karate" which is a curriculum program incorporating 9 different songs that students have to learn to play on their instrument to test for a "belt" to be added to their instrument when they can play that song during a playing test accurately.
